That's it, Android Nougat is available from owners of Nexus 5X, 6P and their predecessors, and should be available by the fall on very likely new devices designed in partnership with Google. The race for updates to this Android 7.0, which is still complex on the side of manufacturers of mobile devices, will soon start. Here is what we know about the policy of updates planned for brands such as HTC, Lenovo, Sony… while waiting for their competitors to say a little more.
Article updated in August 2017 with the update of the Samsung Galaxy A 2017, the Asus Zenfone 3 Max and the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4.
Android Nougat is therefore version 7.0 of Android. Still in Developer Preview in July 2016, Android N saw its name chosen by Internet users who opted for Nougat, while Google ensured its final availability before the end of the summer, as planned.
We know the details of the new features provided by this version of the operating system: a multi-window mode, enhanced notifications, a data saver, support for force touch screens… There is something new, and we have listed the contributions of 'Android Nougat in this dedicated folder. The crucial question remains that of updating manufacturers' smartphones and tablets (excluding Nexus): here are the elements that we know to date.

Sony has not quite announced an update on specific models, but offers the Developer Preview version of Android Nougat, in its fourth version, on its Xperia Z3. Suffice to say that the smartphone will be used shortly after the final availability of Android 7.0 Nougat, and that its successors, namely the Xperia Z5 range (or even the Xperia Z3 +, quickly forgotten), will also be affected. This will probably be the case for the Xperia X range, even if the Nippon has not announced anything yet.
Update of August 12, 2016: Sony has still not communicated on other Xperia Zx than the Xperia Z3, but has turned its attention to the Xperia X Performance, much more recent (see its test). The Nippon has just set up a beta-test campaign for Android Nougat on this model, reserved for the time being for a handful of European countries of which Spain is not part. However, we can hope that Sony will extend its program to other Xperia Xs, and to more markets.
Update of August 24, 2016: Following the officialization of Nougat, Sony was the first to provide a list of devices that it plans to upgrade to Android 7.0. The latter, surprise, does not include the Xperia Z3 (or its Compact version), which had however benefited from a beta-test campaign. However, the Xperia Z3 +, Xperia Z4 Tablet, Xperia Z5, Xperia Z5 Compact, Xperia X, Xperia XA, Xperia XA Ultra and Xperia X Performance will be affected. No specific date was mentioned.
Update of November 30, 2016: Sony is starting to roll out Android 7.0 Nougat on its phones, first on its Xperia X Performance and XZ. The manufacturer's other smartphones should follow.
Update of December 17, 2016: deployment has started on the Xperia X and Xperia X Compact.
Update April 07, 2017: The update rollout on the Xperia Z5 has resumed.
