Android 8.0 Oreo update: the list of compatible smartphones and tablets

Android O is already available on some Google devices and manufacturers are starting to announce which devices will be updated. Here is a list of smartphones and tablets that are or will be compatible with Android O.

Officialized in March 2017, the Android 8.0 Oreo version has been available since day one in Developer Preview. This update brings new aesthetic features as well as some features such as picture-in-picture, or the management of codes received by SMS. On August 21, 2017, Google made the name official, it will be: Android 8.0 Oreo.

The final update is available, AOSP is up to date, manufacturers have started announcing which devices will be updated. Here is the list! Note, however, that only terminals confirmed by the manufacturers are mentioned here. This does not mean that those which do not appear in this table will not be updated, just that the manufacturer in question has not yet communicated on them..

Asus

Asus has formalized the arrival of Android 8.0 on its ZenFone 3 and 4. The Taiwanese manufacturer is taking the opportunity to deploy ZenUI 4.0, its home interface. Deployment for the Asus Zenfone 3 (ZE552KL) has started. With a few months behind schedule, Asus also launched the deployment of Android 8.1 in October 2018 for its Zenfone 4 Max.

 

BlackBerry

BlackBerry has started rolling out its update to the KeyOne.

 

Essential

Andy Rubin and his team responded to an Ask Me Anything, confirming that the Essential Phone will receive Oreo by November 2017. The beta version finally arrived on November 15th. The update to Android 8.0 Oreo has been canceled, the phone goes straight to Android 8.1 Oreo.

HTC

HTC began rolling out Android O to the HTC U11 in Europe in January 2018, and began rolling out to the HTC 10 in the process. The U11 Life received its first update in December. In addition, the manufacturer also claimed that the HTC U Ultra would also be entitled to the new version of the OS.

 

Huawei

When announcing the Huawei Mate 10, the Shenzhen firm confirmed that the Mate 9 would be entitled to its update to Android 8.0 Oreo four weeks after the release of the new phablet. Lenovo Motorola

LG

LG has been very quiet about updates to its devices at the moment, but the LG V30 and V30 + have been given a beta version of Android Oreo in Korea and are now starting to receive the finalized version of Oreo. On the LG G6, a preview is available in the manufacturer's country of origin.

It has also been confirmed by the brand that the LG G6 and V30 will receive Android 8.1 Oreo.

 

Nokia

The Nokia 8 is entitled to Android 8.1 Oreo, while the Nokia 3, 5, 6, 6.1 - or 6 (2018) - and 7 are entitled to version 8.0. the one for the Nokia 5 and 6.

OnePlus

After a beta period, the Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8 + received Android 8.0 Oreo in final version, with Samsung Experience 9.0. Also, the Russian models of the Galaxy A8 and A8 + are starting to receive the update, which should not be too late in Spain.

Sony

Confirming previous rumors, Sony confirmed at IFA 2017 the list of devices that will be eligible for the update to Android 8.0 Oreo. The Xperia XZ Premium, XZ and XZs have already been updated, as well as the Xperia X and X Compact.

The Sony Xperia XA1, XA1 Plus and XA1 Ultra are in the process of being updated.

Xiaomi

Running on Android One, the Xiaomi Mi A1 took advantage of Oreo in beta before receiving the final version of Android 8.0. The Mi Mix 2, it is entitled to a closed beta, before going public.

The Xiaomi Mi 6 also got a global beta, but the update has been officially available since then. For the others (Mi Mix 1 and 2, Mi 5, Mi Note 2), it will be necessary to wait for a stable version of Oreo before being able to take full advantage of this version of Android.

ZTE

The Axon 7 should receive the update to Android Oreo.
