At the end of 2020, Apple updated the MacBook Air, 13-inch MacBook Pro, and Mac Mini with its new M1 processor. Since then, the Air has delivered phenomenal performance and battery life.
On the other hand, apart from the integration of its M1 chip, nothing has changed. It still sports the same webcam, silver aluminum design, paltry keyboard and USB-C ports...
Despite this, it is an excellent device sold at a reasonable price. We are just waiting, impatiently, for a possible cosmetic overhaul.
MacBook Air M1, why buy it?
The MacBook Air M1 was a significant upgrade over the previous model, which featured an Intel processor.
As mentioned earlier, while most of its elements remain the same (size, shape, weight, keyboard, ports, screen, etc.), the performance and battery life of Apple's M1 chip is a big plus.
MacBook Air M2, why wait to buy it?
For its next generation of MacBook Air, we expect the brand to make many changes. Such as a new design with thinner edges and colors like the 24-inch iMac, it might come with new features like mini-LED backlight, improved webcam, and more.
As for its performance, it should be equipped with an even more powerful M2 chip.
While we hope to find out this year, it's more likely to launch in 2022. So if you can be patient, it should be worth it...

The new MacBook Air will certainly be a highly sought-after item among consumers because, in addition to technical improvements, it will benefit from a design overhaul that hasn't happened for a long time.
However, its release is not imminent, and the recent M1 processor makes the current MacBook M1 one of the best laptops on the market. In addition, now that it is no longer very recent, it is also often on sale.
