We have already written a detailed guide on how to download facebook videos on your computer using very practical and powerful software. But below we want to understand how to do a download Facebook videos to iPhone / iPad, in order to be able to modify it and share it in another way.
Facebook is the most popular social networking website in the world, with an estimated user base of over 2,3 million of users around the world. Most of Facebook's user base is on a mobile platform, including iOS and Android. The native Facebook app on iOS is great for using the network; however, it doesn't offer an option to download a video to your phone. If you are using an iPhone / iPad, however, there is an app that can help you download Facebook videos.
This app is called MyMedia: a file manager that allows you to download various multimedia contents to your iOS device. In the case of videos, you can download them from a website (third party downloader) and save them to your camera roll. This app is 100% free, and this is an added benefit that should not be underestimated.
Step 1. Download the MyMedia app on your iPhone / iPad. The device must be running on at least iOS version 9 or later.
Step 2. Open the Facebook or Facebook app in your browser (Safari). Navigate to the video you want to download. Make sure the video sharing setting is set to “Public”, otherwise MyMedia will not be able to download the video.
Step 3. Copy the video link. This can be done easily by pressing the “Share -> More Options -> Copy” button (shown above). This will automatically copy the video link to the clipboard.
Step 4. Open the MyMedia app and select the “Browse” tab. In the address bar write "fbdown.net”And press Enter.
Step 5. Once the website is open, in the download link area, paste the link of the Facebook video you copied earlier.
Step 6. Now, select the quality of the video to download. You can choose between HQ Quality or Normal Quality (Standard).
Step 7. Enter a name for the file and press Enter. The video download will begin.
Step 8. Once downloaded, tap outside the window and open the “Media” tab at the bottom of the screen.
Step 9. Tap the name of the video you just downloaded and select “Save to Camera Roll". Authorize the app to do so when prompted.
You can also download videos from any other platform like Youtube simply by inserting a link of the Youtube download website in the Browser tab and the link of the Youtube video on the respective website. Use the same method described above to save the video to the camera roll.
That's all. You will now find your video in your device's camera roll where you can watch it later or send it to anyone you want. Obviously this method isn't as ideal as having a Facebook in-app option to download videos directly, but as long as it's not there on iOS (it might take a long time), this is a good alternative.
