The key consists of 25 alphanumeric characters, usually divided into groups of five.

Windows 10 product key and digital license
With Windows 10, Microsoft created a new method of authenticating its operating system called a digital entitlement or license.
This digital right is only available if you migrate from a genuine copy of Windows 7 or 8.1 to Windows 10, if you purchased a Windows 10 upgrade or a genuine copy from the Microsoft Store.
This license allows you to activate Windows 10 automatically and free of charge on your PC. If, for example, you are in the case of a migration, then you will not need to enter a product key since it is kept on Microsoft's servers.
