Connect iPhone to the car via Bluetooth
Connect an iPhone to the car via Bluetooth it is a procedure that varies according to the model of machine in use, but in general it is a simple operation that takes only a few minutes of time. Let's see immediately how to do it in car models such as integrated Bluetooth and in those that need external devices.
Car with built-in Bluetooth
To pair your iPhone with a car with built-in Bluetooth, you must first activate Bluetooth on your smartphone. Then take the "iPhone by" in your possession and tap on the icon gear wheel present on the home screen to access the Settings of iOS, then presses on the voice Bluetooth and move the lever next to the item Bluetooth da OFF a ON. Now, go to your car and turn on the car display, access the section dedicated to phone and presses the button for add a new device. Automatically, in the section Bluetooth of your iPhone, a new device will appear under the heading Other devices: press on it and tap on the item Match, then type the access code of four digits that you see on the car display and tap the button Connect. After a few seconds, the car's Bluetooth system will be paired with your iPhone and future connections will occur automatically every time the car's Bluetooth and that of the phone are active and close to each other.
To remove the link between iPhone and car via Bluetooth, go to Settings of iOS by tapping on the gear wheel and presses on the option Bluetooth. Under the heading I my deviceindividual car's Bluetooth system name, tap on i, then presses on the voice Forget this device And that's it.
Car with non-integrated Bluetooth
If you have acar without built-in Bluetooth as standard, you should know that there are numerous devices that allow you to equip your vehicle with Bluetooth and connect your phone to make and receive calls safely.
The first solution you can consider is the Bluetooth AUX, a small device that features a 3.5mm jack to plug into your machine's AUX IN input. Its cost varies between 10 and 20 euros.
The procedure for connecting with the iPhone is identical to that of any Bluetooth device: turn on the Bluetooth AUX device using the appropriate button, then take your smartphone and access the Settings of iOS, then presses on the voice Bluetooth and move the lever from OFF a ON, then presses on device name present under the heading Other devices and insertion il access code of four digits that you find in the manual of the Bluetooth AUX. After the first configuration, the connection between the two devices will be automatic.
If your car does not have an AUX IN input, the ideal solution for you is a FM transmitter, which communicates with the stereo system through radio waves and allows you to connect the iPhone to play music and receive / make calls. There are also models to plug into the cigarette lighter socket and which additionally offer the charging function. The price varies depending on the model chosen, but the most expensive do not exceed 25 euros.
Among the most complete solutions to install in your car, there are the Bluetooth hands-free kit. This device allows you to listen to music, but above all to manage incoming and outgoing calls thanks to the hands-free function and the convenient controls to be applied near the steering wheel and which allow you to answer and call in total safety. Some models also feature voice control with advanced speech recognition. The cost of a hands-free kit is slightly higher than previous devices and ranges between 20 euros and 70 euros.
Note: Before buying any of the devices mentioned, make sure it supports iPhone music playback and has a built-in microphone so you can talk during a call without having to pick up your phone.
Connect iPhone to the car via Carplay
In newer car models, this is possible connect the iPhone to the car via Carplay, the Apple home system developed to allow you to use your "iPhone by" while driving in total safety. There are over 200 car models that support Carplay, but in the case of cars that do not have the standard Apple system, it is possible to install a compatible stereo system such as those of Alpine, Clarion, Kenwood, Pioneer and Sony.
If your car supports Carplay, you can proceed with the configuration. First, you need to take your iPhone and tap on gear wheel per accesre alle Settings iOS, then press on the item Crab and check that the voice recognition system is active, if not you have to move the lever next to the voice Crab da OFF a ON.
Now, tap the gear wheel present on the home screen of your iPhone and press on the option Generali, then presses on the voice Carplay and, if still not active, tap on the item Turn on Bluetooth.
To complete the connection, make sure that Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connections are active in your car and then press and hold the voice control button on the steering wheel, then take your iPhone and, on the Carplay screen, under the heading Cars available will share il car name: click on it and follow the configuration wizard. If your car does not support CarPlay via wireless connection, you need to connect the iPhone to the car USB socket via the original (or certified) Apple Lightning cable.

Other solutions to connect iPhone to the car
If your car does not support Bluetooth and the alternative solutions I have proposed do not fully satisfy your needs, you can consider other methods to connect the iPhone to the machine. Here are some examples.
- USB Cable: if the car has one or more USB sockets, the first solution to consider to connect the iPhone to the car is the USB cable. The phone-car connection via USB cable is useful for recharging the battery of the mobile device but, if the car software allows it, it is possible to make calls and listen to music. If the car does not have a standard USB socket, it can be added using special devices such as USB cigarette lighter or AUX cable with USB socket.
- AUX cable: the AUX cable has two 3.5 mm connectors to be inserted in the car input (usually present near the car radio) and in the telephone input. With this solution, iPhone audio can be played through the car audio system (including calls). The cost of an AUX cable is less than 10 euros.
- Cassette adapter: ideal solution for older cars equipped with tape deck. The cassette adapter looks just like a normal cassette tape from which an AUX cable with 3.5 mm jack comes out to connect to your phone. Its cost ranges from 4 to 15 euros.
