Preliminary operation
Before going into the details of this guide and explain yourself how to connect Sky On Demand, it will be useful to know that to access the rich catalog of on-demand content that Sky makes available to its customers, it is necessary to have a decoder My Sky HD Internet connection enabled.
First, therefore, check that the decoder you received when you subscribed to your Sky subscription is compatible with Sky On Demand. In addition to the compatibility of the decoder with the Sky service, another determining factor for enjoying the contents of Sky On Demand is a broadband Internet connection (ADSL or optical fiber) with a recommended speed of at least 2 Mbps. By connecting to the Connection Speed page of the official Sky website and pressing the button Start test, you can check the speed of your connection and have an outcome related to viewing the contents of Sky On Demand in SD (low definition).
Connect Sky decoder to the Internet
Connect the Sky decoder to the Internet it is an essential procedure to be able to access Sky On Demand and watch movies, TV series, programs, documentaries and many other contents without time constraints. You can connect the decoder to your home internet either wirelessly or using an Ethernet cable. How to do? I'll explain it to you right away.
Decoder with integrated Wi-Fi
If your intent is to connect Sky On Demand wirelessly, you should know that the procedure is possible as long as you have a decoder with integrated Wi-Fi. To find out if your My Sky is enabled for this type of connection, check for the Wi-Fi logo on your decoder or browse the manual supplied with your device.
Now, take the Sky remote control, press the button ? to access the decoder menu and, in the new screen displayed, choose the options Configure e Set My Sky. Make sure, therefore, that next to the item Integrated Wi-Fi sia selezionata l'opzione ON, then access the section Data line to start scanning for Wi-Fi networks. After locating yours WIFI network, select it using the keys arrow on the remote control, presses the button OK, enter the Password and firstly your pulse OK to establish the connection.
If, on the other hand, you have an older decoder with integrated Wi-Fi, to connect it to your Wi-Fi network, press the button Menu on the remote control, access the sections Configure e Data line e pulsing sul pulsating OK. Then wait for the scan for available wireless networks to complete, then select yours WIFI network, enter the Password and press the button OK.
You are a Sky Q customer and have one Sky Q Platinium o Sky Q Black? In this case, to activate the Internet connection, take your remote control, press the button Home (l'icona della casa), access the section Settings and choose the items Configure e Networks. In the new screen that appears, select the option Connect over Wi-Fi, locate your home Internet network, enter it Password and press pulsating Confirmation. If your modem supports WPS connection, on the screen Networks seleziona l'opzione Connect over Wi-Fi via WPS to connect to the home Internet without entering the password.
Via Ethernet cable
The decoder in your possession does not support wireless connectivity or do you prefer the connection via cable? In this case, you can still access the Sky On Demand contents by connecting the Sky decoder to your home modem using a Ethernet cable.
Then take the cable in question and insert one end into the appropriate input on the back of the router and the other end into theEthernet input located on the back of the decoder. Once the "physical" connection is complete, turn on the decoder and tune to any channel, then take the remote control, press the button ? (if you have an older remote, press the button Menu), select the items Configure e Data line and press the yellow button present on the remote control. If the Internet connection is active, next to the items Local connection e Remote connection you will see the option OK.
If you have a Sky Q box, plug one end of the cable into theEthernet input on the back of the decoder and the other end in theEthernet input of the modem, then take your remote control, press the button Home and access the Settings of the decoder. Finally, select the options Configure, Networks e Connect with Ethernet Cable And that's it.
Via Sky Link
Among the solutions you can consider to connect your Sky decoder to the home Internet network there is also Sky Link. If you don't know what I'm talking about, you need to know that it is a Sky certified wireless device, available in models Single Band (single device, to be chosen if you have a Wi-Fi router and Sky decoder on the same floor) e Dual Band (pair of devices, to be chosen if you have a router that does not support Wi-Fi and / or the Sky decoder on a different level than the device), which allows you to connect a decoder not equipped with Wi-Fi to the Internet wirelessly integrated. Furthermore, Sky Link can also be used in combination with a Sky decoder equipped with Wi-Fi connectivity but which is positioned in an area not reached by the signal.
All you need to do to connect the decoder to the router via one Sky Link Single Band, you plug one end of the Ethernet cable into the green door on the back of the decoder and the other end in theEthernet input of the modem. Now, plug the power cable of your Sky Link into your home electrical socket and turn on the device by moving the power button from OFF a ON.
If, on the other hand, you bought one Sky Link Dual Band, take the two devices and set the switch AP / Client of a Sky Link on AP and more on service. Then take the Ethernet cable supplied and insert one end into the green door present on the back of the Sky Link set to Client and the other end in theEthernet input of your modem. Now, take the other Ethernet cable and insert one end into the appropriate input of the Sky Link set to AP, then plug the power cable of both devices into the electrical sockets of the house, move the power switch from OFF a ON e pulsing sul pulsating WPS to establish the connection between the two Sky Links. As soon as the LEDs of the two devices stop flashing, take the other end of the Sky Link AP Ethernet cable and insert it into the appropriate input of the Sky decoder.
Now, whether you have a Sky Link Single Band or a Dual Band, take the remote control of the Sky decoder, press the button ? (or its pulsating Menu), access the sections Configure e Data line e pulsing sul pulsating OK. Then select yours WIFI network, enter the Password and press pulsating OK to establish the connection. Activate Sky On Demand
Once you have connected your My Sky box to the internet, you are ready for activate Sky On Demand and access thousands of content, such as movies, TV series, TV shows and more.
The simplest solution to activate Sky On Demand is to use the Sky remote control. Press the button ? to access the decoder menu, access the section interactive and press pulsating OK, then locate the entry Activate Sky On Demand and Restart e pigia again its pulsating OK to complete the activation. If, on the other hand, you have an older remote control, press the button On Demand, positioned on the option Activation On Demand using the keys arrow on the remote control and presses the button OK.
If you prefer to activate Sky On Demand from a computer, connected to the Sky website, click on the button Login at the top right and enter your Sky ID access data in the fields Username or email e Password. If you have not yet registered on the pay TV site, press the button Login and click on the entry Not registered? Create your Sky ID now, then enter the required data in the fields Client code, Tax Code, Email address e Password e pulsing sul pulsating Continue. Finally, log into your inbox, locate the email received from Sky and click on the item Click here to activate your account and complete the registration.

If, on the other hand, you are wondering how to access Sky On Demand on Sky Q, also in this case you will be happy to know that the service is already active and ready to use. However, at least initially, you may have difficulty in identifying the on-demand content of your interest since, unlike the My Sky HD decoders, the Sky On Demand section is not available on Sky Q.
