To get InDesign, go directly to this page from Adobe, which has fully transitioned its services to Adobe Creative Cloud.
Creative Cloud users subscribe to a monthly or yearly plan to get the software, which provides you with free cloud storage space, as well as continuous updates.
Although you can subscribe to the complete Adobe suite, called All Creative Cloud, which includes InDesign but also Photoshop, Illustrator, Adobe XD, Premiere Pro..., the most financially reasonable choice is to subscribe to InDesign only.
How much does Adobe InDesign cost?
For an InDesign only subscription, you have the choice between a prepaid annual payment (€287,77), an annual subscription with monthly payment (€23,99/month) and a monthly subscription (€35,99).

The answer is yes. Adobe offers you to use its software free of charge for a period of 7 days.
After that full week it will cost you €23,99/month, but you have 14 days to cancel and get your money back full.
What does the Adobe InDesign subscription include?
The InDesign single app subscription includes 100 GB of cloud storage space, access to Adobe Portfolio (create your website), fonts (Adobe Fonts), Adobe Spark, as well as tutorials.
Is there a student rate?
Adobe does not offer a discount on InDesign as a program alone.
However, if you are a student or faculty member, then you can take advantage of a 65% discount on the Everything Creative Cloud plan, which includes InDesign.
Which is much cheaper than subscribing to InDesign only, not to mention that you get plenty of other benefits. What are they anyway?
For starters, you get over 20 programs, including Photoshop, Illustrator, and Adobe XS, but you also get 100GB of cloud storage with access to Adobe Portfolio, Adobe Fonts, and Adobe Spark.
The first year you will pay €19,50/month, then the subscription automatically increases to €29,99/month, unless you cancel it. Annually, it is €234, with a monthly direct debit.

What are the alternatives to InDesign?
For a DTP alternative to InDesign at no cost, there is the open source program Scribus, but we do not recommend it for professional use.
Otherwise, there is InDesign's first competitor: QuarkXPress software, it offers a free trial offer, then its subscription starts at €188/year.
Finally, you will also find Affinity Publisher with fluid and intuitive use. It is part of the Serif and Affinity Designer suite. Its price starts at €54,99.
