Preliminary operation
Prima di enter the live of the tutorial and spiegarti how to link Twitch account to PS4, I want to remind you of a couple of preliminary steps necessary to continue: I refer to the connecting the PlayStation 4 to the Internet and associating your user profile on the console with a PlayStation Network account (free). You've almost certainly done both already. If not, please follow the directions below.
To connect the console to the Internet, if possible, use a simple Ethernet cable, which will allow you to have access to the Net without interference and without configuring. Alternatively, if you prefer to use the Wifi connection, go to the menu Settings on the PS4 (the briefcase icon at the top of the main console screen), go to Network> Configure Internet Connection> Use Wi-Fi> Typical, select the WIFI network you want to use and enter the relative Password. For the rest, leave all the default options active. More info here.
To access the PlayStation Network (which is free, you only need to have access to the online services of the PlayStation and should not be confused with the PlayStation Plus service, which is instead paid and is used for online play), go to the menu Settings> Account Management PS4, select the item Log into PlayStation Network and enter your PSN account details.
If you don't have a PlayStation Network account yet, press the buttons New to PlayStation Network? Create an account e subscribe now that you find below, fill out the form with Country, Language e date of birth; go ahead, enter City, State / Province e Postal code; go ahead and configure Login ID e Password for your account. How to link Twitch account to PS4 to watch content
If your intent is connect Twitch account to PS4 to watch content offered by the famous platform owned by Amazon, all you have to do is download the appropriate application on the console and log in with a confirmation code, which you will have to enter on the Twitch site by acting from a PC or other device.
To download the Twitch app on PS4, select the checkbox TV and Video from the main console menu, in order to access the store with apps dedicated to entertainment; then select the card All apps placed at the top, scroll through the list of available applications, choose Twitch and proceed to install the app by pressing the button Download.
Should a message appear that you do not have enough space on the PS4 to complete the installation, increase the memory of the console by following the suggestions that you find in my tutorial dedicated to the subject. In case of other errors, however, check for updates for PS4: if you do not install the latest version of the console firmware, in fact, you will not be allowed to install new apps.
Once the installation is complete, all you have to do is start the app Twitch from the menu TV and Video or from the PS4 main screen and connect your account to access the service: to do this, press the button Log in located at the top left.
A code on the TV. At this point, visit the site twitch.tv/activate from a device on which you are logged in to the Twitch site and enter, in the field located in the center of the page, the code you see on the TV. Then press the button Attiva And that's it.
Within seconds, the Twitch app on PS4 will automatically recognize your account and allow you to access your favorite content from the TV screen.
You will then be able to view the live broadcasts of the channels you follow, continue watching the on-demand content you stopped, find potentially interesting content based on your previous views and so on.
There is not much to say about the functioning of the app, as it almost completely mirrors the functioning of the Twitch site: I assure you that you will not encounter any difficulties in using it.
Please note: if you are a user Twitch Prime and you're wondering how to connect Twitch Prime to PS4, do not fear. The Twitch application for the Sony console, in fact, automatically recognizes the benefits associated with the account in use and, therefore, you do not need to take any additional steps to use them.
How to link Twitch account to PS4 to stream content
If your intent is to link your Twitch account to your PS4 in order to stream your gaming sessions, you can take advantage of the streaming feature included "standard" in the console's operating system. Before proceeding, however, run a speed test and make sure you have a connection with at least 2 Mbps in upload: Below this threshold you will have difficulty in streaming quality.
That said, to link your Twitch account to your PS4 to stream, go to the menu Settings of the console, go to the rumors Sharing and broadcasting e Connect to other services and select Twitch from the list that is proposed to you.
Now, if you have already logged into the Twitch app to watch the content from PS4, the system should recognize you automatically: in this case, all you have to do is confirm by pressing the button OK, And that's it.
If, on the other hand, you have not yet installed the Twitch app on PS4 or are not logged in to it, visit the site twitch.tv/activate from a device on which you are logged into the Twitch site and enter the code you see on your TV (as explained above for the Twitch app). Alternatively, you can also scan the QR code you see on the TV and follow the onscreen instructions.
Mission accomplished! You have now connected your Twitch account to the PlayStation 4 and can use it to stream your matches online. To do this, start the game you want to broadcast, press the key Share of the controller, go up Broadcast game, select Twitch as a platform to stream to, confirm that you are using yours account, tax title, quality and other broadcast preferences and tap on Transmission begins, to go live.
If you prefer a more professional setup, you can also think about connecting one capture card to the PS4, shoot yourself with a webcam while you play and manage everything from PC, with programs like the excellent OBS. How to unlink Twitch account from PS4
In case of second thoughts, let me point out that you can disconnect Twitch account from PS4 in a very simple way: in the case of the service app, you just need to start the latter, go to theicona dell'omino located at the top right and select the item Logout give the menu check if you press.
In the case of content transmission, however, you have to go to the menu Settings> Sharing and Broadcasting> Link to Other Services> Twitch of the PS4, press the button Logout and confirm. Easier than that ?!
