Note that the basic 21,5-inch model has not moved to the 4K screen and still features a 7th generation Intel processor. It has therefore not been modified.

The design of the 2019 iMacs
The iMac hasn't changed since 2012, although its sides have still been refined. Its aluminum design is now more than 10 years old, the first model was launched in 2007.
Many are calling for change, or at least internal modifications that would allow Apple to make its screen even thinner.
If you were hoping for a facelift, you will be disappointed...
Screen
Renowned analyst Ming-Chi Kuo had said that an iMac with significant display upgrades would be launched soon. Unfortunately, his predictions turn out to be wrong.
The 4K Retina display retains its resolution of 4096 x 2304, with support for 1 billion colors, and a luminance of 500 nits (P3).
The 5K screen also retains its resolution of 5120 x 2880, it also supports 1 billion colors, and a luminance of 500 nits (P3).
The iMac screen is not touch sensitive, if you want to control a Mac with your fingertips, then you will have to turn to the MacBook Pro with Touch Bar.
Information
Now, let's take a look at the components of the 2019 iMacs.
Processor
The 2019 iMac comes in several versions with different processors. There's quad-core, as everyone knows, and now six-core, for the 21,5-inch model.
If you prefer the 27-inch iMac, it's available with an 8-core processor! It will be mounted on order.
For its mid-range version, count 200 € more, compared to the basic model) and 500 € for that of the higher range.
Storage space
We were hoping that Apple would put an end to the Fusion Drive (combining Flash storage performance with the capacity of a hard drive). This would have saved more space inside the iMac.
But nay. Apple has kept this system in order to provide more storage space for its entry-level model.
The latter and the mid-range can back up 1TB of data. However, you can configure them with a 2TB/3TB Fusion Drive or a 256GB, 512GB, or 1TB SSD.
RAM
Faster memory is possible using the Coffee Lake which supports DDR4 at 2666 MHz.
- The 21,5-inch iMacs are boosted by 8GB of 4MHz DDR2 RAM. It is configurable in 666 or 16 GB.
- The base 27-inch iMac has identical RAM to the 21,5-inch iMacs.
- The 27-inch, mid-range and high-end iMacs have the same RAM, except that it's configurable up to 64 GB.
The previous generation 21,5-inch iMac without 4K display has 8GB of RAM, 21333MHz and is configurable at 16GB.
Graphics Cards
The new iMacs are all equipped with a Radeon Pro graphics processor, but only their most expensive version can be equipped, on request, with a Radeon Pro Vega (20 or 48).
