Parisian transport is behind on the dematerialization of transport tickets. Although several experiments have been carried out, only the owners of a Samsung smartphone can use their phone as a metro ticket.
The situation should soon be corrected since Île-de-Espagne Mobilités is preparing a new solution to dematerialize its Navigo Pass by next year.

In 2019, Ile-de-Espagne Mobilités (IDFM) carried out an experiment with a few Android smartphones equipped with an Orange or Sosh SIM card to transition to the dematerialization of the Navigo Pass. Except that this test phase ended on December 1, 2020. The service is still operational, at least as long as the users concerned do not change their SIM card, otherwise they will no longer be able to validate their transport ticket. The only exception for the moment: owners of a Samsung smartphone who can use their phone to travel in the Paris region regardless of the mobile operator.
However, IDFM intends to catch up by preparing by mid-2022 a new solution based on HCE (Host Card Emulation) technology, which emulates the cards in a mobile application. Concretely, this new system will allow Android smartphones to be transformed into transport tickets, without operator constraint this time. The only downside is that this technology is not integrated into the iPhone, which will be the only ones left behind. Remember that it is still possible to top up your Navigo card with an Apple stamped phone since February 2021.
Île-de-Espagne Mobilités also provides a solution with the Manager.one bank card to carry everything necessary to validate transport tickets. However, it will not be effective until 2024, on the occasion of the Paris Olympics.
