With the release of the beta di Google Chrome, which took place during the last weekend, the times foreseen for the arrival on the smartphone with operating system Android of the next version of the browser. But what are the main ones news that could be integrated in the final release number 89?
It dates back to 18st January the penultimate beta, that is number 88, of the browser of Big G dedicated to the operating system of the green robot. With the introduction of the beta 89, Chrome has chosen to debut the feature that has been named Privacy Sandbox. It is, as defined by Google itself in the site dedicated to the Chromium Project, of a particular “web ecosystem that is respectful of users and private by default“.
In practice, once this mode is enabled, i Web sites he advertiser they will no longer be able to view and use the preferences of the individual user for marketing purposes, but exclusively of user groups sharing similar interests. In order to start taking advantage of the new functionality right away, you need to activate the flag dedicated, available at the link chrome: // flags / # privacy-sandbox-settings, in order to make all the options visible within the settings section dedicated to Privacy.
The upcoming news also involve the Progressive Web App, or those particular apps that combine the characteristics of web pages with those of applications for mobile devices. With the introduction of a specific flag, # mobile-pwa-install-use-bottom-sheet, Google has made some changes to the installation mode, thus allowing users to view screenshots and relevant information before proceeding with adding to the browser.
With the 89 beta release it becomes possible too upload natively some types of content, such as the photographic format AVIF with AV1 encoding (both for Android and for WebView), and take advantage of the support dedicated to files with specifications XFA (XML Forms Architecture) when reading PDFs. To this is added the default enabling of WebHID API e Web Serial API (the latter on Chrome OS and Windows operating systems).

As for the part graphics, the update concerns the Discover feed, present when opening a new page. The renewed appearance will be more airy, with the contents arranged in a similar way to the previous version but without the boxes to delimit the area occupied by each single news in the list.
Last but not least is the new graphics of the Popup bearing the website information in which you are navigating. By activating the # page-info-discoverability flag it will be possible to view all the details shown by tapping the padlock icon on the address bar in a list format, easier to read than the previous setting.
