If you want to download Google Chrome for free on your Windows PC, the first move you need to make is to connect to the program's website using the browser you usually use on your computer (eg. Internet Explorer o Microsoft Edge) and press the button Download Chrome present in the center of the screen. If you prefer to avoid that usage statistics and reports on browser crashes are subsequently sent, remove the check mark from the box referring to the relevant option attached to the box that is shown to you and then click on Accept and Install to accept the browser's terms of service and then click on Si to start the download procedure.
If you haven't used Internet Explorer to download Chrome, after clicking Accept and install you will have to agree to save the program installation file, wait for it to be downloaded and run it. The software will take care of everything else.
In a few moments you will then see the Chrome welcome screen and you can start surfing the net with the latter by typing the addresses of the sites to visit in the bar at the top or by searching (always from the latter).
To import your favorites, search engines and passwords from Internet Explorer or other browsers, click on the item Import favorites now which is located in the upper left part of the Chrome home page while to activate the synchronization of browsing data on multiple devices you have to click on the icon of thelittle man located in the title bar at the top right and log in with your Google account. If you want to expand the functions of Google Chrome with extensions, you need to connect to the appropriate section of the Chrome Web Store and search for the add-ons you want to install in the program. There are hundreds and hundreds to choose from, but if you want some tips for getting started in this world, check out my selection with some of the best extensions for Google Chrome. To install an addon in Google Chrome, just select it from the Web Store and click on the button Add.
Once installed, extensions can be managed, deactivated and removed by clicking the i button three dots located in the upper right part of the browser window, by clicking on Other tools and then on the voice Extensions of the browser. To disable an add-on, simply remove the check mark from the option Attiva placed next to its name, while to delete it just click on the icon basket. In addition to extensions, Google Chrome can also count on Web applications, advanced online services that in certain situations can also work offline and / or save data locally on the computer. These too can be downloaded from the Chrome Web Store, from the dedicated section.
There are two types of web applications for Chrome: those classical and those desktop, which operate in independent browser windows and behave very similarly to standard applications for Windows or Mac. You can find them, as well as extensions, on the Chrome Web Store.
Once installed, the Chrome web applications are accessible from the section App browser window. To uninstall one, all you have to do is right-click on its icon and select the item Remove from Chrome ... give the menu check if you press.

If you use a Mac, you can download Google Chrome for free on your computer by connecting to the Internet site of the big G browser using the link I gave you a few lines above - when I explained how to download Google Chrome for free on Windows - using the web browser that you generally use to surf the net (eg. Safari) and clicking on the button Download Chrome to start the download. Then click on Accept and Install to accept the browser's terms of service and to start the download procedure.
Once the download is complete, click on the file you just obtained and drag the browser icon to the folder Applications of your Mac. If you don't have administrator rights, you will be asked to authenticate.
Finally, start Chrome by selecting its icon from the Launchpad or folder Applications and begins to "whiz" on the net. On first launch, Chrome will automatically import your home page settings and browser history. You can then choose whether to set the browser as the default on your computer by clicking on the appropriate button at the top.
If you want to log in to your Google account, click on the button in the shape of little man located at the top right of the Chrome window and provide the data you are asked for.

If you are using a computer with a Linux distribution installed on it (eg Ubuntu), all you have to do to download Google Chrome for free is connect to the browser's website via the link I gave you a few lines above - when I explained how to download Google Chrome for free on Windows - using the program to surf the net that you generally use on your computer (eg. Firefox) then you have to click on the button Download Chrome to start the download. Next, select your download package by choosing from 64 bit .deb (for Debian / Ubuntu) or 64 bit.rpm (for Fedora and openSUSE) then click Accept and install.
Then click on OK, wait for the browser installation file to download then run it and click Install. Then type the password of your user account, click on Authentic and start the software by clicking on the button Search on the computer attached to the dock, by typing chrome in the search bar that opened and double clicking on the browser icon.
On first launch you will be asked if you want to set Google Chrome as the default web browser for the system and if you want to send usage statistics to Google. If you are not interested in this, please remove the check marks from the two options in the window that opened and then click on OK otherwise leave them.
Finally, you will be asked to log into your Google account. Then fill in the fields displayed on the screen by typing your username and password and wait for the login procedure to be completed. Eventually, you can also skip this step and start using the browser without logging into your Google account. To do this, just start typing your search terms in the address bar and press the button Submit on the keyboard.

As I told you at the beginning of the guide, as well as on your computer you can download Google Chrome for free on a mobile device. In this regard, if you use an Android smartphone or tablet, Chrome should already be included "standard" on your device and you should therefore find the app on the main screen of the same and / or the one in which all the applications are listed.
If this is not the case, you can still download Google Chrome for free by pressing the icon of Play Store (it is the white bag icon with the "play" symbol printed on it), by tapping on the icon magnifying glass placed at the top right and looking chrome. Next, select the browser from the search results and press the buttons Install e Accept to complete the operation. Regarding the extension speech, on the mobile device version of Google Chrome it is not possible to install them. As for the applications for Chrome, there are not but there are still numerous apps to download and install on the device that can replace the use of the integral ones in Chrome on the desktop.
Download Google Chrome for free on iOS
Do you own an iPhone or an iPad and are you interested in understanding how to download Google Chrome for free? No problem, I'll explain it to you right away. To begin with, access the iOS home screen and then tap on the icon App Store (it's the blue icon with the letter “A” in the center), select the card Search located at the bottom right and type chrome in the search field above. Download other versions of Google Chrome
In addition to the basic version of Chrome, so to speak, there are also two other versions available: the Beta and Canary, or what we could define as the alpha version. Below you will find more details about it and the links to download it on your device.
- Chrome Beta - This is a version of Google Chrome that is one step ahead of the stable one. It includes some new features that still need some refinement and therefore could technically give some problems. It is mainly intended for the most impatient and is highly discouraged in the workplace. It can be installed instead of the stable version of the browser. For those who feel "in the mood for experiments" even from mobile can download the variant for Android on their device.
- Chrome Canary - This is a special version of Google Chrome that appears to be far ahead, in terms of development, compared to the stable version of the browser and which includes numerous experimental functions (which will not necessarily be introduced in the stable release) capable of keeping the potentially problematic and crash-prone program. It is intended exclusively for developers and the most daring users and is absolutely not recommended in the workplace. It can be installed together with the stable version of Google Chrome or the Beta.
