Have you just received photos and videos sent by your loved ones and would like to save them on your iPhone?
Unlike Whatsapp, iOS's Messages app doesn't automatically transfer media to your camera roll. This is a process that users must do themselves.

Save an iMessage photo or video
Here is the procedure to follow to transfer photos received on your iOS via iMessage:
- Open the app Messages on your iPhone.
- Tap on the conversation containing the files to back up.
- Go to the name of your contact, And then Info.
- Choose an image.
- At the bottom left of it, tap the share icon.
- Select Save.
To save a recently received snapshot, simply find it in your conversation thread, tap and hold, and select Save.
Save multiple iMessage photos or videos simultaneously
To archive multiple images at once, follow these steps:
- Open the app Messages on your iPhone.
- Tap on the conversation containing the files to back up.
- Go to the name of your contact, And then Info.
- touch See all photos.
- At the top right of the screen, go to Select.
- Tap on each photo you want to transfer.
- Finalize with Save, in the lower left corner.
In just 7 steps, you've added snapshots to your camera roll collection.
Automatically save photos via AirDrop
As mentioned above, for some unknown reason, Apple does not allow automatic backup of photos received via iMessage. However, there's another way to make them appear in your iPhone's library, thanks to AirDrop.
AirDrop
If you are in the presence of the person you want to share your files with, then use AirDrop. To do this, first make sure it is configured:
- Go to your Center de contrôle.
- Hold down the graphics network card (the square where the Airplane Mode, WiFi, Cellular Data and Bluetooth icons are).
- Tap on the option AirDrop.
- Then choose the sharing mode to activate, Contacts only ou Everybody.
Now you are ready to send or receive photos via AirDrop. To do this :
- Open an image.
- Press theshare icon, at the bottom left of the screen.
- Touch the icon AirDrop and choose your contact.
